Adirondack Plein Air Festival

Almost 40 artists participated in the in the Adirondack Plein Air Festival (APAF) from August 18-21, 2011 and competed for prizes judged by Steward White. Nicolay Mikushkin won the Best of Show award and received a one-quarter page ad in a future issue of  PleinAir magazine. Tarryl Gabel won the Spirit of Health & Healing Through the Arts award, and George Van Hook won the Cape Air award.

Among the other award winners in the APAF were Charlie Hunter (Historic Saranac Lake award), Crista Pisano (Saranac Lake ArtWorks award), Chrissy Pahucki (Adirondack Artists’ Guild award), Charlie Hunter (People’s Choice Award), Frances Gaffney (Saranac Village at Will Rogers award), Gretchen Kelly (Bookstore Plus award), Marilyn Fairman (Paul Smith’s College award), Cat Micheels (Lake Clear Lodge & Retreat Center), Faye Ingerson (Downhill Grill award), and Robert Hedden (Juror’s Honorable Mention).

In total, the event led to sales in excess of $8,000 and artists received 10% of the sales revenue from their paintings. For more information, visit www.saranaclakeartworks.com.
