Among the artists participating in the “A Breath of Plein Air Exhibition” organized by the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast were Rae O’Shea (First Place, Signature Member-Small Works), Marge Levine (Second Place Signature Member- Small Works), and Candace Petersen (First Place, Artist Member-Small Works.)


Other award winners in the show that ended on November 29, 2011 at the Middletown Arts Center in Middletown, New Jersey were Mimi McCabe (Second Place, Member- Small Works), Pratima Rao (Third Place, Member-Small Works), Anna Wainright (Honorable Mention- Small Works). Yelena Snovsky (Honorable Mention-Small Works), Anna Wainright (First Place, Large Works), and Gail Joseph (Second Place, Large Works).  

Based at the New Jersey Shore, members of the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast explore the beauty around them by painting en plein air and capture the unique colors and atmosphere of the region. The group holds weekly outings, three member meetings, an annual member’s only exhibition, a biennial professional show for signature members, semi-annual paint aways and special invitation painting opportunities in shore communities.
