During the 10th anniversary of the Sonoma Plein Air event in Sonoma, California (October 1-6, 2012), 40 artists competed for awards and exhibited their outdoor paintings. PleinAir staff member Krystal Allen sent in this report on the award winners and provided photographs of the event.

Eric Bowman won the Artists' Choice and PleinAir magazine awards with his painting titled "Valle de la Luna." Krystal Allen reports, "This event was a bit different in that there was no judge, and Eric Bowman won an award which was selected by the participating artists. There were also Honorable Mention awards given to Phillipe Gandiol, Ken Dewaard, and Bill Cone. The Quick Draw was well attended despite the 100-degree temps of the day, and the gala and silent auction were held at the Lasseter Train Barn, owned by John Lasseter of Pixar Studios."
