About me

I began a passionate pursuit of art in 2005 after a career as a financial analyst [CMA]. No longer able to work due to chronic pain, I sought out art as a pastime, much like Winston Churchill who took up painting after leaving the Admiralty in 1915. In Painting as a Pastime, Mr Churchill says “how varied are the delights which may be gained by those who enter hopefully and thoughtfully upon the pathway of painting; how enriched they will be in their daily vision, how fortified in their independence, how happy in their leisure.” Creating art refocused me on life’s joys and simple pleasures - no other treatment or activity has been as healing as taking up my paint brush. A painting session might be meditative, prayerful or playful – but the journey itself is healing.
