Summer is one of the most creative times of the year for plein air painters, especially with all the festivals, paint-outs, and quick draw competitions taking place. We encourage you to enter some of your best works in the July/August leg of the 1st Annual Plein Air Salon Competition. James Gurney will review all the entries uploaded to the competition website and he will select paintings eligible for the $20,000 in cash prizes.

The annual competition is a bi-monthly contest leading to an annual Salon winner. Each bi-monthly contest will offer valuable recognition in the magazine’s weekly e-newsletter or one of a myriad of prizes from our generous sponsors. The contest is not restricted to plein air paintings and we encourage you to submit studio or outdoor paintings created in oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, or drawing media. All images should be submitted in digital format and without frames through the official online entry procedure. To learn more or to send in your artwork, visit our Plein Air Salon competition page.

    And again, When do we know results of each bi-monthly? And how? I've been hunting all over the site. It's hidden if it's there.
