One of the interesting and instructive aspects of the recent "Publisher's Invitational" Paint the Adirondacks event was seeing how several talented artists painted the exact same location. The comparison reveals differences in materials, techniques, and style. That same opportunity will be available during the 1st PleinAir Convention & Expo next April.

Many of the 80+ participants at the "Publisher's Invitational" Paint the Adirondacks event painted The Flume, a series of three waterfalls along the West Branch of the Ausable River; Bog River Falls, a web of intersecting streams and waterfalls that flow into Tupper Lake; St. Regis Falls, a dramatically wide and thunderous waterfall; and High Falls, a towering display of cascading water.  Here’s how several artists painted the same locations during painting event:

These are wonderful! I loved seeing the variety of different artists' interpretation of the same area. Isn't it interesting how we all see the same thing in so many different, creative and interesting ways! Well done to everyone!!

This is a wonderful example showing that it isn't what you paint but how you paint it. Fun to see the different interpretations.
