Plein Air for Camphill: The Four Seasons

A fundraising plein air event that benefits a school for special needs children has been so successful that it is now a year-round program. Several artists recently created their summer paintings near the school, in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania, to be part of an exhibition at Rosenfeld Gallery in Philadelphia from November 29-December 2, 2012.

Brush Creek Art Walk

Artists can still register to participate in a three-day plein air competition from July 27-29 along Kansas City's Brush Creek, a newly completed four-mile walkway. An exhibition of the plein air paintings opens on August 23, and awards will be given for paintings created in the four designated zones.

Artists Gather in Sisters, OR

On Saturday, July 28, artists will paint along the Metolius River near the iconic Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery north of Sisters, Oregon. The National Forest Foundation and Deschutes National Forest will host the 4th Annual Plein Air Paint Out. Find out about this effort to promote conservation and stewardship.

The Hudson River School Art Trail

The Hudson River School Art Trail is a project to map the painting sites of the artists Thomas Cole, Frederic Church, and their contemporaries including Asher B. Durand, Sanford Gifford, and Jasper Cropsey. The HRSAT is now online at a mobile-friendly website, and the organization is accepting submissions for "Postcards from the Trail."
