The Wisconsin Plein Air Painters Association held its “We Came, We Saw, We Painted” event on May 10, which culminated in a show at the local cafe/gallery Art*Bar, located in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood.
Lynn Rix won second place with her “Pots at Monches Farm.”
Sherri Thomas won first place for her painting “Golden Day Study.” Lynn Rix won second place with her “Pots at Monches Farm,” and Third Prize went to Carolyn Larkin for “Backlit Pond.” Artists were allowed to enter any piece painted en plein air from 2011 to the present.

The pieces will be on view at Art*Bar until June 13. Proceeds from the sales of the paintings were split between the artist, the venue, and A.W.E. (Artists Working in Education), an art program for inner city kids that features a truck laden with art supplies that visits various parts of Milwaukee.
