A prospectus is now available for the first of three  â€śAmerica’s Parks Through the Beauty of Art” contests that will result in traveling exhibitions. The 2013 inaugural exhibition will be composed of original artwork depicting subject matter found in any national, state, provincial, county, or city park, or any part of any other park in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

The exhibition is being organized by David J. Wagner L.L.C. and will be judged by M. Stephen Doherty (Editor of PleinAirTM Magazine), Susan T. Fisher (Director of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum of Art), and Todd Wilkinson (Managing Editor, Wildlife Art Journal). There is an entry fee, a strict size limits on the artwork, only two-dimensional work will be accepted, and all submissions must be original works of art. The deadline for entering is August 31, 2012, and the exhibition will begin it’s tour at the Ella Carothers Dunnegan Gallery of Art in Missouri.

    so nice to see a competition of this type again.....I've saved the entry info and have it on my calendar. I will definitely support this competition and try to come up with something very interesting...

    Wonderful to see this kind of competition back. Arts for the Parks was a wonderful experience for me and this venue appears to be a similar type of endeavor. Surely, many old and new painters from around the country will get involved and paint thier hearts out. I know I will.
