Karl Terry recently send us a photograph of a bird resting on his easel who continued to watch Terry paint for hours. Then a few days later, Roy Connelly send a photograph of a woodpecker eating away at his easel while he was painting. Finally we began to wonder if birds in the United Kingdom have something against plein air painters when Antony Bridge sent a photograph of a bird taking off with his paint brush.

I really enjoy painting bird's nests floating in an abstract background....do you think that might attract a few birds to my easel? Loved the pictures!

That's the coolest thing I've seen in a long time! Nice to have company when painting.

I too have had birds watch me as I painted along the Monterey (CA) coast. I had a seagull lay down at my feet for almost 2 hours as I painted some birds off the coast. So I added her to my painting. You can see this painting and another painting I did of a group of birds watching me paint off Pacific Grove on my website at: http://home.earthlink.net/~rrowings/pg14newworkpg2.htm
    Birds can be great company!
