Two members of the PleinAirTM magazine Board of Advisors, Christopher Forbes and Ed Terpening, attended the opening in New York of paintings resulting from an event organized by Mr. Forbes and PleinAir editor Steve Doherty. The paintings shown in “The Timberfield 10” exhibition at the Forbes Magazine Galleries that opened on June 30th were created by ten artists who spent a weekend painting on location at Timberfield, the Forbes family home in New Jersey. The exhibition will remain on view until September 10, 2011.

Doherty and Forbes collaborated on a number of painting events in the U.S., England, and France over the past 15 years. Groups of artists were invited to paint together in studios and outdoors, and several months later their paintings were exhibited at the Forbes Galleries. The gathering at Timberfield in 2010 included John Patrick Campbell, Camie Davis, Steve Doherty, John Dowd, Ed Terpening, Timothy W. Jahn, Bryan LeBoeuf, George Towne, Wendy Walworth, and Patricia Watwood. Artist Rob Clarke participated in the weekend event but elected not to exhibit his artwork.
