The organizers of the popular Stems plein air event have launched a new online plein air competition with a gallery show tied to it. The deadline is December 15.

The Rice Gallery of Art in Overland Park, Kansas, is the host for this event, which runs January 20 through March 4. Selected pieces will be on view at the gallery during the month of February. Pieces will also be on sale online. The event will award $1,900 in prizes, including a $1,000 Best of Show prize. There is a $30 entry fee, and juried submissions will be responsible for shipping costs. The gallery will take 35 percent of sales.
