Image still from “Mosaic”

It was just a few weeks ago that the magnetic story of Cory Trépanier and his project “Into the Arctic” was a topic of discussion in episode 44 of the PleinAir Podcast. Most recently he’s been seen on TV in Japan and teaching plein air.

The compelling career of Cory Trépanier is continuing to evolve — this time on television in Japan. However, it’s not quite in the capacity you might be thinking. For a short moment, Trépanier displayed his acting stills in a documentary-drama series titled “Mosaic,” which was filmed at Algonquin Park, Ontario, and premiered in Japan recently.

Trépanier writes, “Before my encounter with the show’s main character Nana, she visits the AGO-Art Gallery on Ontario, discovers the Group of Seven, explores the McMichael Canadian Art Collection where she learns about Tom Thomson, then discovers me painting in a canoe in Algonquin Park!”

Cory on TV in Japan!

On TV in Japan! The results of my first “acting” gig from last fall when I joined a Japanese film crew in Algonquin Park, and the spectacular colours where at their peak (I appear around the 40 sec. mark). Had a few lines to remember, but was really just trying to be myself. Also did a little plein air teaching 🙂 Leading up to my encounter with the show’s main character Nana, she visits the AGO – Art Gallery of Ontario, discovers the Group of Seven, explores the McMichael Canadian Art Collection where she learns about Tom Thomson, then discovers me painting in a canoe in Algonquin Park!
