Jeffrey Baumgartner improvised his footwear during an untimely rain in Philadelphia. Photo by HazelPhoto

Jeffrey Baumgartner, whom some of you may know from the Publisher’s Invitational Paint Out and others may know from his acting turns in Shakespearean stage productions, recently painted a nice picture at Philadelphia’s historic Valley Green Inn. The humidity was evidently very high that day.

“It was pouring, it wouldn’t let up, so I put plastic bags on my boots and went at it again,” says Baumgartner. A professional photographer was there to shoot a wedding, and he evidently couldn’t resist photographing a die-hard plein air painter at work.
