Important Plein Air Collection Donated

Art collector Roy Rose, one of the biggest supporters of plein air artists and groups, recently agreed to donate a collection of paintings by the California Impressionist painter Guy Rose to a major museum.

CAC Winners Include PleinAir Cover Artist

Ray Roberts and Charles Muench, along with former tattoo artist Sergio Sanchez, received top awards in the California Art Club’s 101st Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition on view in Los Angeles until April 22, 2012. Renowned landscape painter Ray Roberts, whose Gold Medal painting is on the cover of the April/May issue of PleinAir magazine, and sculptor Lynn Christopher received Gold Medals for “Best of Show” honors on Saturday, March 31.

Laguna Event Big Success

The 13th Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Invitational event presented by Laguna Plein Air Painters of America (LPAPA) and Laguna Art Museum in Laguna, California was held from Oct 9 -16, 2011. Over 40 of the nation’s top plein air artists participated. Reported by Vanessa Rothe.
