The California Art Club is focusing on the theme of water in its current exhibition at the Old Mill, in San Marino, California. The show is on view until September 1.

Jeff Horn recently led a quartet of painters across Santa Catalina Island in cooperation with the Catalina Island Conservancy, the caretakers of the island. In exchange, the plein air painters have donated paintings to an annual fundraising auction.

In the Footsteps of Thomas Moran 2012, the fourth annual plein air event in Zion National Park,  was held November 4-12, 2012. Twenty-five of the country's top landscape painters participated, and several received purchase awards.

The California Art Club’s exhibition of 32 landscape paintings of the Golden State, many of which were created on location, will be presented at the Bennington Center for the Arts in Bennington, Vermont, from July 21-September 23, 2012. For the sixth year, the Outdoor Painters Society organized Plein Air Southwest at the Southwest Gallery in Dallas, TX. The plein air paintings will be on view from April 7th through May 5th, 2012. Ned Mueller won the Best of Show award, Michael Obermeyer was selected to receive the PleinAir magazine Award of Excellence, and Diane Frossard won the Vasari Classic Artists Oil Colors Award of Excellence.

Paintings and sculpture selected for the California Art Club’s (CAC) 101st Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition will be on view from April 1 - 22, 2012 at the Autry National Center in Los Angeles. Works by 124 painters and 22 sculptors will be considered for the awards and will be available for sale.

Fifteen nationally known artists will be presenting their work during The Wine Country Plein Air Invitational Exhibition from September 17 - October 17, 2011 at The Fairmont Gallery in West Sonoma, California.
