More than six hundred people attending the 1st Annual PleinAir Convention & Expo were so impressed with the presentations made during the four-day event in Las Vegas that they spontaneously rose to their feet while applauding several of the speakers. Most of those participants felt that the event far exceeded their expectations and that the presentations were so informative and inspiring that they were life-changing experiences.

One of the artists who will be traveling from outside the United States to participate in the 1st Annual PleinAir Convention & Expo from April 12-15, 2012 is Ulrich Gleiter, a German artist who studied at the Repin Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Plein Air Rockies, an annual festival of outdoor painting in Estes Park, Colorado, was held from August 13-25, 2011. Award winners in the event sponsored by the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park Fine Art Gallery (CAC) include Susiehyer (Best of Show), Ulrich Gleiter (Award of Excellence sponsored by PleinAir Magazine), David Harms (3rd Place sponsored by Judson’s Outfitters/Guerrilla), and Gene Youngmann (CAC Board of Directors Gold Award).

We are excited to announce that a number of internationally known plein air painters have already agreed to be instructors and demonstrators during the 1st Annual PleinAir Convention & Expo taking place April 12-15, 2012 at the Red Rock National Conservation Area and the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our special guest will be Richard Ormond, grandnephew of John Singer Sargent and the author of most of the great books on Sargent.

Plein Air Rockies 2011 (PAR) will take place from August 13-25, 2011 in Estes Park, Colorado. The event begins with the annual Prelude Show on August 6th during which collectors can preview work by the participating artists. On August 25th the painting period will end and plein air paintings will be made available for sale in the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park at the Estes Park Fine Art Gallery.

 

Anticipation is building for the 1st Annual PleinAir Convention from April 12-15, 2012 at Red Rock Casino Resort in Las Vegas now that PleinAir^TM Magazine has staged a tremendously successful outdoor painting event in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. More than 80 artists from around the country gathered at Paul Smith's College on Lower Saint Regis Lake from June 21-26 to paint, share ideas and artwork, and establish lasting friendships.
