Reverence was done near Telluride, CO. While my husband went on a hike, I saw this scene and was just captivated by the light through the aspens. The much smaller Reverence (study), which was done in plein air, is currently in the Plein Air Artists of Colorado show, hosted by Wilder Nightingale Fine Art in Taos, NM.

I have always enjoyed being outdoors. I grew up on a farm and spent most of my days riding my horse around the countryside and going hunting with my dad. Those experiences have served me well, giving me a great appreciation of the natural world.

I have always loved to draw and paint, so going outside to paint is a natural extension for me. I graduated with a fine art degree (drawing and painting) from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I went back and got a graphic design degree as well. I spent almost 20 years doing design work but always wanted to get back to doing my own artwork. For the last 10 years I have been painting and honing my skills.
