Diane Hutchinson painting at Everglades Day 2017, at the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge

Plein air painting doesn’t take much of a winter break in the Sunshine State. Last week in Boynton Beach, seven artists took home ribbons.

The event was Everglades Day, and it drew painters to the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge for art and fun. At the end of the day, Carolyn Covert took home First Place honors, with Diane Hutchinson winning Second and Carol Perez gaining Third Place. Kathryn Barry won Judges Recognition, and Captain Barry, Elfrida Schragen, and Julia Stevens earned Honorable Mention.
