The weather outside was frightful (5 degrees) but the view was so delightful. So Jane Hunt relocated to her car after “about five minutes.”

“I had this notion in my head that a true plein air painter stands out there no matter what,” says the Colorado painter. “But as I got colder and colder I actually started picturing the next day’s newspaper headline — ‘Crazy Artist Freezes to Death,’ that kind of thing. It was so warm and comfy in my car … it may be hard to go back to standing in the snow!
