Michigan artist Mark E. Mehaffey’s birthday is on December 25, and he decided the best way to celebrate was to paint outdoors with acrylics.

“There was nothing I wanted to do more than get outside and paint in celebration of Christmas and my birthday,” says Mark E. Mehaffey. “It was a balmy 27 degrees outdoors — this is Michigan, after all — so my wife, Rosie, and our dog, Keshi, bundled up and headed for the township park.
