oil painting of abandoned barn
Agnes Neusch, Red Barn, 9 x 12 in, oil, sold at Plein air event Paint the Town.

Agnes Neusch: I passed this barn driving a rural road close to where I live. The red stood out from all the greens of spring around it. I always wonder about the last person to use an abandoned building, as well as way nature takes over. Boards decay and sunlight finds a way to break through even the darkest parts of a structure. I got a degree in art from the University of Texas, but the demands of life have covered up most of my time. Now my kids are grown and gone, and the little seeds of creativity are finding their way into the sunlight. I enjoy painting outdoors as well as in the studio.
