Morning Mist:
I was fortunate to win the “Gold Medal” Award at the Oil Painters of America Eastern Regional Exhibition for this painting. Morning Mist is a studio painting that is based on a plein air study completed in Rockland, Maine. I felt that I had captured the feeling of this misty August morning in Rockland in my plein air study and that it translated very well in the studio piece. Maine is one of my favorite places to paint because of subjects like this.
