Texas-based artist Randall Kirby Cogburn is an American Impressionist. A tradition of painting on location gives his paintings a unique look. He uses loose and precise brushwork, vivid color, with an impasto feel with a sense of design and flair of the abstract. He takes this tradition into his studio on Galveston Island, Texas, and crafts his bigger paintings for gallery shows and commissions.
