The opening reception for an exhibit of work by the Suburban Plein Air Painters of Illinois

Members of the Suburban Plein Air Painters recently exhibited their paintings in the Herb Aigner Gallery of the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg, Illinois. The group was established on Facebook and then began to plan paint-outs and this exhibition.

Irene Peterson, a member of the Cultural Commission in Schaumburg, Illinois, sent us photographs from the opening of the exhibition of work by members of Suburban Plein Air Painters. “The group started three years ago with a Facebook community page, and they began painting together as the spirit moved them,” Peterson explains. “Many of us also participate in the Prairie Plein Air Competition and Show, as well as other local plein air events.” For more information, visit www.ci.schaumburg.il.us/PCA/PrairieCenter/Pages/PCA-Gallery.aspx or www.ci.schaumburg.il.us/PCA/art/Pages/Plein_Air_Show.aspx.
