The Long Beach Island Foundation in New Jersey hosts an annual competition with a nice twist. They call it Plein Air Plus.
Juror Stewart White will select about 35 artists to participate in the second annual Long Beach Island Plein Air Plus Paint Out & Exhibition, an event that allows artists to compete in a plein air event and also show studio work depicting the seashore environment around Long Beach Island, New Jersey. Painters are invited to work en plein air through the summer, then attend the non-mandatory opening reception and awards ceremony on September 24.
