Stapleton Kearns won the First Place award for his painting “Roses in Pots,” and Garin Baker picked up the Second Place award for his nocturnal painting “Late-Night Cranford.” Third Place went to Michele Byrne for her painting “View From Columbus Circle.” This year’s six-day event gave people a chance to meet the plein air competition artists, witness as everyday scenes were captured on canvas, and add to their personal collections. This year the 28 participating artists painted in the local community and spent two full days painting in nearby Manhattan and along the New Jersey shore. The event was sponsored by the Jersey Central Art Studios (www.jcas.org).
