The 8th Annual Plein Air event invites artists to capture the beauty and hospitality of historic downtown Meeker, plus ranches, scenic trails, mountain meadows, and gorgeous views throughout Rio Blanco County. The northwest corner of Colorado’s Western Slope region and the Flat Tops Trail Scenic and Historic Byway provide ideal painting backdrops. Following a two-week paint-out, a public show and auction is held in conjunction with the annual 4th of July Rodeo and Range Call celebration. Cash prizes are awarded, including Best of Show and People’s Choice. Meeker is full of energy and is the perfect place to paint!

Each summer the Sheridan Arts Foundation hosts nationally renowned plein air artists in beautiful Telluride for a week of outdoor art. The Telluride Plein Air Festival has become an indispensable part of Telluride’s Independence Day festivities, allowing attendees to observe some of the nation’s top artists at work. This event is a fundraiser for the Sheridan Arts Foundation and the Historic Sheridan Opera House, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The sale takes place outside the Sheridan Opera House and in Elks Park. Each year we invite back the top five selling artists from the previous year.

Artists are invited to participate in Arts Connect’s 8th Annual Paint the Town event. Beginning at 8 a.m. with registration, the paint-out will take place within a designated eight-block area in the heart of historic downtown Lexington, Kentucky, over a six-hour period. Finished works will be turned in at 2 p.m., curated, and hung later that afternoon. The exhibition will open that evening with a public reception during which there will be a presentation of cash awards for Best in Show, 2nd, 3rd, and People’s Choice. All work will be labeled, for sale, and displayed for four weeks.

Come paint in America’s first capital city. Whether you are painting the historic buildings dating from the 17th century, the U.S. Naval Academy, the extensive waterfront, or the surrounding area, Paint Annapolis has something for everyone. As the main attraction of Annapolis Arts Week, supported by Visit Annapolis and advertised throughout the mid-Atlantic region, Paint Annapolis draws art collectors through daily mini-competitions and partnerships with other local organizations and businesses, including Dueling Brushes (quick draw), Paint the Bay, and Art on the Avenue.
