PleinAir Art Podcast with Eric Rhoads and John Crump

New Zealand artist John Crump shares his journey as a professional artist in the latest PleinAir Art Podcast with Eric Rhoads.

Although Crump always drew when he was a child, his artistry was forced into hobby status after he went to college and became a teacher. In the 70s he would paint at night, and eventually chose to paint full time, making it work even through the economy’s market crashes.

Crump’s inspiration comes from the outdoors of New Zealand’s landscape “theater,” for which Crump says he has a great sense of awe and wonder.
