JR Baldini - PleinAir Podcast
JR Baldini, featured in the PleinAir Podcast with Eric Rhoads, Episode 132

Eric Rhoads interviews JR Baldini, Executive Director of the International Plein Air Painters (IPAP) organization in this week’s PleinAir Podcast. Discover how IPAP members manage to stay tightknit, despite the group’s size and varying locations.

Baldini also shares how 9/11 influenced the beginning of IPAP and how the border presented a problem for her while doing business outside of Canada, and much more.

“Plein air is really the only type of painting I’m interested in personally,” Balidini says. She goes on to tell us about a workshop she leads with a clinical psychologist on Monhegan Island: “We’re not looking to teach someone how to draw a tree … we’re looking to give people the confidence to use their creativity and to encourage them to use their creativity through their filters instead of trying to fix themselves because of all the things they’ve learned in their life … and I don’t think there’s any better way to do that other than being out in the atmosphere.”

About IPAP: IPAP is a blanket organization created for the sole purpose of advancing the execution and enjoyment of plein air painting without the restrictions and limitations of borders or regions. Membership is restricted to plein air painters, those serious to learn about plein air painting, and those who wish to be benefactors advancing the plein air movement. (http://i-p-a-p.com/)

  1. my biggest concern is … and I hope you, one day would speak about this .. is what will become of those who would love to continue to plein air paint together … but …. will not necesarrily be able to do that, if everything is contingent on receiving a controversial vaccine in order to be able to continue with these wonderful pleasures we have known.
