Set amid Sedona’s red rocks and sweeping desert vistas, the week-long Sedona Plein Air Festival brought master artists from around the country to one of America’s most spectacular locales. PleinAir Magazine Editor-in-Chief, Kelly Kane, served as this year’s judge and awarded Best in Show to Anton Nowels, Second Place to Olena Babak, and Third Place to Nic Fischer.

“It was my first visit to Sedona, but certainly won’t be my last,” Kelly says. “The red rocks were a knockout, of course, but so was the work created at this year’s festival. I was thrilled to meet a number of artists, like Nowels, who are pushing boundaries, breaking expectations, and expanding the language of plein air. I look forward to introducing them to PleinAir readers in issues to come.”
