In this weekly series Kelly Kane, Editor-in-Chief of PleinAir® Magazine, shares a favorite painting from a previous issue.
“I painted this scene in an ancient Chinese town where locals live along water canals like the old days. As I worked, I watched the people who lived in the houses go in and out for their morning wash-ups along the water. It was a beautiful and touching scene. To convey that feeling in the painting, I used a few simple brushstrokes to capture the morning routine of a Chinese housewife.”
