Art lovers will soon have a new avenue for appreciating the art of William Hook, devoted painter of the American landscape.
 
Artist William Hook and his representation at Meyer Gallery of Santa Fe, New Mexico, have announced the upcoming release of a retrospective volume on Hook’s life and art. William Cather Hook: A Retrospective will comprise 240 pages, 160 color plates, and 40 color photographs.
 
The volume will be published by Fresco Fine Art Publications, LLC — which was recently recognized with a national publishing award for Art of the National Parks: Historic Connections — Contemporary Interpretations — and distributed by University of New Mexico Press. Susan Hallsten McGarry wrote the text, and PleinAir magazine editor M. Stephen Doherty supplied the forward.
 
William Cather Hook: A Retrospective will be officially released in September 2014. A collector’s edition, limited to 25 books, will include a 10-by-10 inch acrylic painting by the artist and will be priced at $2,500. An artist edition, limited to 100 copies, will come with the purchaser’s choice of three giclee prints from Hook and will sell for $300. The standard hardbound volume will cost $75.
