Among the finest shows of watercolor in the country, the California Watercolor Association National Exhibition displays the best from 70 premier painters.
 
The 44th National Exhibition of artwork from the California Watercolor Association (CWA) is on view now at Olive Hyde Gallery, located in the historic Mission San Jose area of Fremont, California. An awards reception will be held on February 21, from 7-9 p.m.
 
Widely recognized artist Elaine Daily-Birnbaum of Madison, Wisconsin, who is a signature member of the CWA, served as juror for the show. The award-winning works display technical facility and creativity with the medium.

Kathleen Conover took home the Gold Award and a $2,500 prize with her cityscape depicting “Shadows of a Milltown.”
 

Susan Walsh Harper, “Members of the Wedding,” watercolor. Silver Award winner

Susan Walsh Harper won the $2,000 Silver Award with a charming interior scene of three young girls — the artist’s granddaughters.
 

Melani Lacki, “Cherries Jubilee,” watercolor. Bronze Award winner

Melani Lacki secured the Bronze Award and a $1,500 prize, while John Salminen‘s sublime depiction of “Iceland” was the winner of this year’s CWA Signature Award and $1,000.
 
The rest of the 18 award-winning artists from the exhibition will be recognized at the awards reception on February 21.
