The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) has fulfilled a long-time vision of having its own permanent exhibition space in a Laguna Beach art gallery that will be the premiere venue for its artist members. It will be a showcase for the organization that had its humble beginnings in 1996 when five local artists formed the group as a way to enhance and preserve the plein air movement.
Located in North Laguna, it will host artist exhibits and other plein air events on a year-round basis and will be open to the public.

With local art patron and philanthropist Toni Kellenberg leading the way, and with the support of the hard-working Board of Directors, the search for a permanent home at long last has become a reality.
Executive Director Rosemary Swimm states: “Our very own art gallery is the culmination of years of planning and is the perfect evolution of what our organization represents for the local and national art community.”

On August 19, LPAPA held a ribbon cutting ceremony and official opening of the gallery (located at 414 North Coast Highway). The inaugural exhibition will be dedicated to the original five founding members: Ken Auster, Jacobus Baas, Cynthia Britain, Saim Caglayan, and John Cosby. The exhibit will run through September 7, 2021.
