Now through August 24, work by 36 artists showcasing the beauty of the Cache la Poudre River will be on view at the Morgan Library, on the Colorado State University campus in Fort Collins, Colorado. The artists gathered for a common cause…

They painted scenes of the river and surrounding wetlands for two weeks to protect the area as part of the Paint the Poudre event. Some strong work is among the 113 pieces on view and for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to the restoration and conservation of the Cache la Poudre River.

This third annual event was co-founded by Marie Massey and Diane Edwards in response to a cataclysmic fire that ravaged more than 80,000 acres along the river in 2012. Previous shows have raised more than $2,000 for Save the Poudre, the nonprofit organization that advocates for the river.
