“Jupiter Dunes” was painted on the morning of February 7, 2015, looking to the east and over a dune at a lifeguard stand, from Highway A1A in Jupiter, Florida.  The red flag flapping in the breeze caught Jane’s attention as she was participating in the 2nd Annual Plein Air Event hosted by Unique Art Gallery.  “Jupiter Dunes” was awarded “Best of Show.”  Jane endeavors to capture the right balance of light, shadow, and color in her paintings. Her favorite subjects are landscapes, seascapes, and old Florida architecture.  In her early years, she drew with pencil, charcoal, and colored inks, but now uses oils almost exclusively.

Jane has participated in workshops with Don Demers, Mary Erickson, Calvin Lang, and Morgan Samuel Price.  She enjoys her summer trips to Maine and participated in the first annual Castine Plein Air Festival in 2013.   This summer Jane will make her way to Maine again and join Mary Erickson in Port Clyde for a week of Plein Air painting.  In 2014, Jane received an honorable mention award for her “Quick Draw Paint Out” at the Jupiter Lighthouse Plein Air Festival.  She currently enjoys painting in her native South Florida.
