About the Artist:
Karen Ann Hitt received her art training at Parson’s School of Design in New York. Her classic background and training are ever evident in her style, along with her love of capturing the figure and the effects of light in all of her scenes. “As an artist the passion is to reflect light, life, land, expressions as genuinely experienced ‘At That Moment…’.  I paint to transport you while also exposing you to the very emotion that stops us both now in our tracks to experience a view; simply, seeking with my art to bring you into viewing your own, ‘At That Moment…’ too.”

Many efforts culminated for this artist to bring Painters Paradise to being an active present day to day way of life. In a very intentional journey, where the journey was both the destination and the goal- to grow as an artist to meet the next season in life.  Many miles of painting, beyond the miles on the road brought Karen Ann to being able to paint this…Painter’s Paradise, a plein air painting painted during a beloved annual event, Publishers Invitation (also known as Paint Camp) in the Adirondacks, is now available at the 25th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils at Southwest Gallery 4500 Sigma Rd. Dallas, Texas 75244 Exhibition: May 13-June 15, 2016

Adding to the honor of a Plein Air Painting being juried into the Oil Painters of America is their stated goal: “Our goal is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in craftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter”

The focus of this artist to grow as an artist to meet this next season in life continues. A studio painting of Karen Ann’s Artist Studio Life With Lemon and Blues Choices, a Still Life with Plein Air Paintings drying on her ‘fresh off the easel’ wall as a backdrop.  It’s another side of the things that make up a “Painters Paradise.” That Still Life Painting is being included in the upcoming 2016 May/June issue of Fine Art Connoisseur.  Plein Air Painting has taught this artist how to truly ‘see’ – Nothing can replicate painting from life. Painter’s Paradise illustrates the literal along with the miles journeyed, enabling the opportunity to reflect every Plein Air Painters ideal location- be it in their back yard, or thousands of miles away from home.  It is all a Painters Paradise when it is enabled to be applied.
