Katherine Galbraith, a native of Memphis, TN, is a nationally known artist who has received numerous awards and recognition throughout her career. Upon receiving a full Merit Scholarship, Katherine attended the National Academy Museum School of Fine Art where she studied under Daniel Greene, NA, and Robert Phillip, NA. More recently Katherine studied under Jill Carver, Michelle Dunaway and Qiang Huang. She currently lives in Westfield, NY, where in May 2013, she opened The Station Art Gallery & Studio of Katherine Galbraith. There Katherine hosts Plein Air Westfield, teaches workshops in plein air and portraiture, and mentors artists in her area. Dedicated to advancing the arts, she continues to strive for excellence in her work.
Katherine is a Signature member of American Women Artists; she is also a member of Oil Painters of America and the Portrait Society of America, where she has won numerous awards. She is also a Mystery Artist for their annual convention.
Katherine’s work has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, International Artist, Art of the Portrait, Outdoor Painter, Veranda, Better Homes and Gardens, Southern Living, Where: Boston, and has often appeared in Coastal Living.
Katherine’s major one-woman shows include events in Bronxville, NY; Raleigh, NC; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; St. Simons Island, GA; Sea Island, GA; Pittsburgh, PA; and Westfield, NY. She has exhibited in galleries across the country, from New York to California.
