Born and raised in Texas, Liz Bonham majored in Painting at Abilene Christian University
and has studied mainly with noted colorist Ovanes Berberian. She has also studied with Richard Schmid and Dan Gerhartz. After years in commercial art, she moved to the Christian children’s and gift book market where she has sold almost two million books and won numerous awards including The Gold Medallion Award.
Bonham is a member of OPA, Grapevine Art Project and Outdoor Painters Society. She works in oils, preferring to paint plein air landscapes and still lifes in natural light.
Bonham has been a National Cover and Show Poster Artist for the Appaloosa Journal Magazine and most recently has won first place in oil painting at the Best of Southwest Show at the Amarillo Fine Arts Institute. She was also featured as a master artist at their Beaujolais Nouveau event, along with Jack Sorenson, Guido Frick and Emin Abbasov.
