“From on High”

 About the artist:
“From on High” is looking down at Garnet Lake and Mt. Banner & partly obscured Mt. Ritter. (Yes, this is where my hiking accident happened last year.) I love this view with the strong diagonal bisecting the composition. The strong light hitting the top of the rocks emphasizes the shape as well. The vertical elements of the trees are balanced with the unusual shape of the Banner.

I will be one of the presenters at this years Plein Air Convention in Tucson, AZ. My demo, “The Power of the Sketch” will focus on the importance of the thumbnail drawing up through the finished painting.
