In this weekly series Kelly Kane, Editor-in-Chief of Plein Air Magazine, shares a favorite painting and artist quote from the current issue.

Kelly Kane’s Pick of the Week: “Dancing Light on the Harbor”

“For me, painting is such an important endeavor because of its capacity as a learning experience. I just want to play with paint, to always keep exploring. I’m not heading in any particular direction or style; I’m just working from a feeling. I want to preserve the energy I feel on location. Going more abstract connects with the loose brushwork that I have in my paintings; it’s my thumbprint. It just feels natural.”
