A group like the Oil Painters of America has a lot to offer the nation’s artists and communities, so it takes its show on the road through its salons.

Artist Marc Hanson will serve as juror for the paint-out.

PleinAir magazine is joining with Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey, Michigan, for an Oil Painters of America Salon from June 20 through August 31. Scheduled activities include lectures, demonstrations, paint-outs, workshops, and a juried show.

“We are so delighted with the caliber of the artwork from the OPA artists,” says Bill Millar, board president of the Crooked Tree Arts Center. “The opening weekend offers great opportunity, with two paint-outs with over $5,000 in prizes. We encourage artists to make the trip to beautiful northern Michigan to paint our breathtaking land and waterscapes.”
