Artists frustrated with the cold weather can start dreaming about plein air events on warmer days … and in a few cases, they need to start making plans now to attend. Two events have imminent deadlines for entry.
Plein Air Southwest has an entry deadline of January 6 for its 2014 event, held in Dallas from April 5 through May 10. Jill Carver will serve as juror, and $15,000 in prizes will be awarded. The Westfield Art Invitational wants entries for its event in hand by January 3. Sponsored by the Westfield Art Association, the competition will run October 20-26 in Westfield, New Jersey.
