Here’s a good place to paint in February: Jupiter. Despite what your science teacher may have told you, it’s warm there.

Jupiter, Florida, that is. Painters will gather there for the Artists Association of Jupiter 2nd Annual Plein Air Event, February 5-7. More than $2,500 in prizes will be awarded, with Hugh O’Neill serving as the juror. The roster is limited to 75 artists, who will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. There’s a $45 entry fee, and you must register by January 25. Go here to do so.

  1. “Your Paintings” is a fabulous idea I’m going to follow up on. Would’t it be great to have this happening in the US?

  2. Many art museum are presently in the process of documenting their collections in order to put them on-line. It would be wonderful to have that information collected nationally so we could see all the paintings in public collections by a particular artist and learn the institution in which each is housed.
