This July offers a chance to get in on the ground floor of a new plein air competition in Ocean Park, Maine.

Artists will paint from daybreak on July 9 through 11 a.m. on July 11 in the small community, which consists of a half-mile-wide and half-mile-long sliver of land along the Atlantic Ocean near Kennebunkport, Maine. A wet paint sale will be held on the night of July 9.

“This is an excellent opportunity for outdoor artists who will be in the Kennebunkport area in early July,” says a notice from the organizers. “All interested artists are asked to submit three samples of their work to Frank Costantino ([email protected]) in JPEG form and a non-refundable application fee of $35 to Ocean Park Association, PO Box 7296, Ocean Park, Maine 04063, by March 15, 2014.”
