The Brandywine watershed has been attracting painters to the area for decades.

Twelve spots remain for artists wishing to attend Plein Air Brandywine Valley, a competition scheduled for October 20 through 25 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Participants will have four days to paint in the Brandywine Valley, with the winners of the competition announced at the gala scheduled for October 25 at the visitor’s center of Winterthur Museum, Gardens and Library, located just outside of Wilmington, Delaware.

N.C. Wyeth, Howard Pyle, Jamie Wyeth, and Andrew Wyeth all drew inspiration from scenes of the Brandywine Valley.

Photographers are also eligible to participate in Plein Air Brandywine Valley. For more information, visit the event’s website.
