The ninth edition of the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico National Juried Members show will be opening at Sorrel Sky Gallery in November. In 2017, acclaimed artist Bob Rohm is juror of awards while Roger Williams, Dave Ballew, and Shanan Campbell Wells made the exhibition selections.

New Mexico is certainly one of the best states for outdoor painting — which is why we chose Santa Fe as the location for the 2018 Plein Air Convention & Expo! That said, one can expect any display from the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico to be a brilliant showcase not to be missed, making the 9th Annual PAPNM National Juried Members show a must-see.

Jason Sacran, “Last Cut,” oil, 14 x 18 inches
Betty Tichich, “Overgrown,” pastel, 11 x 11 inches
Stephen Unger, “Lavender Fields,” oil, 12 x 24 inches
Val Mouttet, “Out My Front Door,” acrylic, 36 x 48 inches
Albert Handell, “The Swirl of Life,” pastel, 12 x 18 inches

Hosted by the prestigious Sorrel Sky Gallery in Santa Fe, the exhibition will open on November 3 and continue through November 26. In addition to the exhibition, PAPNM has scheduled a few other events worthy of your consideration. On Friday, November 3, members have been invited to paint around the town before the opening reception and awards ceremony begins at 5pm. On Saturday, November 4, judge of awards Bob Rohm will be hosting an artist demonstration before the members’ dinner is hosted.
