Plein air painter C.W. Mundy was one of the 40 artists who signed 400 copies of the book Painting Indiana III: Heritage of Place, a 272-page coffee-table book featuring 100 juried works depicting historical places in the Hoosier State.

An exhibition associated with the art book will open on September 20 at the Indiana Landmarks Center in Indianapolis. “It was a real honor to be included in the Painting Indiana III book, in which three of my paintings were selected for the book by the judge, Steve Doherty,” said Mundy. “You might think it was a real ordeal for 40 artists to sign 400 books, but Bill Wissel, the IPAPA [Indiana Plein Air Painters] president, had it so organized at the Indiana Landmarks Center that we zoomed through the signing in 30 minutes instead of the expected two hours! It turned out to be a lot of fun, and we’re all looking forward to the exhibition opening of 100 paintings, painted en plein air throughout Indiana and depicting historical Indiana landmarks.”
