Ted Garcia got into the holiday spirit by painting in sub-zero temperatures. That’s a plein air painter for ya.

“It was a neighbor’s tree that sits along the creek in our front yard,” explains the Colorado painter. “They decorate each year, and I really liked how the tree lit the foreground and stood like a beacon in the night. So I set up and tried to capture the moment. It was a nice chilly -1° when I was painting this one.”
